The Covid pandemic will “go on for a year longer than it needs to” as a result of poorer nations should not getting the vaccines they want, the World Health Organization (WHO) says.
Dr Bruce Aylward, a senior chief at WHO, stated it meant the Covid disaster may “easily drag on deep into 2022”.
Less than 5% of Africa’s inhabitants have been vaccinated, in comparison with 40% on most different continents.
